Job Description

- Perform entry-level professional work including developmental assignments involving the application of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria in carrying out routine engineering tasks under direct supervision.
- Conduct preliminary engineering evaluations and studies to identify design improvement alternatives, compare options, and assist in making design recommendations as it relates to water conveyance systems and water pumping stations.
- Assist in the analysis of reports, maps, drawings, aerial photographs, perform site visits, and review survey data to plan and assemble construction documents.
- Perform plan preparation of portions of routine projects under the direction of project engineer or senior CADD technician.
- Assist in the preparation of quantity estimates.
- Prepare construction, topographic and boundary survey layouts.
- Be responsible for project quality on tasks assigned as defined in the Quality Assurance / Quality Control guidelines.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field (Environmental, Mechanical, or Biological & Agricultural Engineering) from an ABET accredited four-year college or university.
- Engineer-In-Training (EIT) certification or passing the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam within six months of start date.
- 0–1 years of experience in the field or related area, including internships or coursework projects.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and AutoCAD or Civil 3D (preferred).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail.
- Understanding of surveying principles and basic engineering terminology.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills with a strong work ethic.
- Valid driver’s license

Responsibilities
We are seeking an Engineer I to join our North Texas team, where you will gain hands-on experience working on water conveyance systems, water pumping stations, roadway, drainage, and other public works infrastructure projects. This role provides the opportunity to collaborate with experienced professionals, develop engineering solutions, and contribute to the design and construction of critical infrastructure. Under the guidance of senior engineers, you will assist in project planning, design, and analysis while building technical expertise in civil engineering.
