      Position Summary

      The Engineer II is responsible for preventative maintenance of all Commercial / Hotel equipment in accordance with ASRE/OSHA standards and manufacturer maintenance standards.

      Responsibilities

      • Maintain and repair all equipment and systems within the HVAC/R
      • Familiarity with the energy management system and field components.
      • Complete scheduled preventive maintenance and respective reports; Complete assigned work orders in a timely fashion.
      • Handle guest complaints utilizing best practice procedures.
      • Inspect and troubleshoot all equipment, including ceiling units and suspended units which may require climbing scaffolding, ladders or cat walks.
      • Responsible for Maintenance Engineer duties.
      • Responsible for daily rounds and log sheet; Maintain the equipment logs, files and operation manuals for ice machines and refrigeration equipment.
      • Maintain property inventory and requisition parts as needed.
      • Identify, locate and operate all shut-off valves for equipment.
      • Repair and calibrate HVAC controls.
      • Maintain all chemicals within Pool Systems
      • Maintain and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical systems.
      • Successfully complete Training Certification Process and review all departmental safety information (i.e., JHA's and SDS's); Practice emergency procedures in compliance with hotel/company standards; react and assist in hotel emergency situations.
      • Maintain safe conditions and procedures in work area and other associated areas; check working condition of equipment and report all deficiencies immediately to supervisor to be rectified; report any safety hazard to supervisor.
      • Perform all other related duties as assigned by supervisor; Assist other departments by providing lateral service when possible.
      • Participate in departmental problem-solving team.

      Qualifications

      • High school graduate or G.E.D. equivalent and vocational/technical background required.
      • Trade/vocational school or apprenticeship in refrigeration/AC is strongly preferred.
      • 6+ years of hotel engineering/maintenance experience strongly preferred.
      • 2+ years of hands-on Electrical, Plumbing, Mechanical experience, and Kitchen equipment experience required.
      • Engineer II Mechanics must hold a Universal EPA / CFC Certification and Pool certification.
      • Ability to communicate in English with hotel guests, visitors, and staff to their understanding.
