      LOCATION: 168 Third Avenue, Waltham, MA 02541

      TITLE: Engineer III, Manufacturing Engineering

      HOURS: Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm

      DUTIES: Develop, fabricate, modify, and evaluate parts, assemblies, components, sub-assemblies, tooling, and final products to support manufacturing departments.

      • Support manufacturing departments by collecting and processing information related to assigned projects, evaluating all information and alternatives, preparing/presenting plans, and recommending a course of action.
      • Prepare and manufacture prototypes and participates in design reviews, utilizing the principles of concurrent engineering.
      • Develop manufacturing processes, production line layouts, fixture design, equipment validations (IQ/OQ), FAT, capability studies, documentation, LEAN techniques.
      • Assist Packaging Engineering Team with packaging improvements and cost reduction of new and existing packaging components-products.
      • Assist with assessing and resolve packaging problems arising in production or in the field.
      • Develop and issue detailed specifications for procurement of packaging components, direct the implementation of new or revised packaging, recommend/implement packaging enhancements for cost reductions and quality improvements, and perform packaging Qualification studies.
      • Design and procure equipment, machines, and tools. Monitor performance of equipment machines tools, and manufacturing processes.
      • Qualify equipment in an FDA regulated industry by managing, generating and executing qualification and production documentation (i.e., SOP, WI, URS, FAT, SAT, IQ/OQ/PQ, gap analysis, etc.).
      • Assure compliance with corporate site and regulatory policies, practices, and guidelines.

      TRAVEL: Up to 5% domestic and international travel required. Telecommuting Employee: Can work remotely or telecommute.

      REQUIREMENTS: MINIMUM Education Requirement: Bachelor’s degree or foreign degree equivalent in Mechanical Engineering or related field of study.

      MINIMUM Experience Requirement: 5 years of experience as a Mechanical Engineer, Process Engineer or a related occupation.

      Required knowledge or experience with:

      • Manufacturing Engineering experience within manufacturing, processing or packaging automation;
      • Investigate equipment failures or difficult to diagnose faulty operation and recommend remedial actions;
      • Generate reports using SAP and Dynamics;
      • Specify system components or direct modification of products to ensure conformance with engineering design, performance specifications, and environmental regulations.
      • AutoCAD;
      • SolidWorks;
      • Implement Root Cause Failure Analysis on system or processes;
      • Six Sigma Methodologies;
      • Project Management experience; and
      • Proficiency in engineering graphics.
