      Technical Operations/Maintenance

      Technical Operations includes the maintenance, and overhaul of our aircraft. This includes aircraft maintenance technicians, engineers, planners, ground equipment and facilities teams, supply chain teams and more.

      Job overview and responsibilities

      Avionics engineering is responsible for maintaining aircraft avionics systems reliability and enhance functionality, as well as providing support to our internal customers safely and efficiently. Responsible subject matter includes communications, navigation, autopilot, indication, and recording systems including the review of Flight Data Recorder data for reasonableness of required parameters.

      As an engineer you will provide engineering support for United’s worldwide fleet; studies, analyzes, and seeks solutions to problems related to the design, operation, maintenance, performance, modification, or repair of aircraft, and their components. You will need to use a structured, logical, and analytical approach in problem solving. Defines maintenance program, configuration, and serviceability criteria ensuring safe and legal operations. Analyzes and implements regulatory requirements. Evaluates the effects of modifications or new equipment on reliability and performance as well as determine benefits of the cost impact of a fleet decision to ensure an optimum balance of cost, asset utilization, quality, and reliability. Authors, designs, tests, and manages projects. Provides on-site technical support for line and base operations. Communicates with customers on technical issues, work scope recommendations, and failure investigations. Interfaces with internal and external organizations regarding specific aircraft, and component issues. Be able to multitask in a fast-paced environment, with strong project management skills and being a team player with a positive approach to working together.

      Requirements

      · B.S. Degree in Mechanical Electrical or Aerospace engineering

      · At least 5 years of engineering experience

      · Engineering skill sets which can be applied to a range of aircraft systems

      o These skills include, but are not limited to, analysis of complex technical issues, highly detailed level project development/management for regulatory compliance modifications, and overall ownership of specific systems

      · Successful candidate will also understand detailed cost/benefit analysis of projects, as well as effectively engaging stakeholders cross-functionally

      Preferred

      · Boeing/Airbus Structures I, Airframe/Powerplant License or EE licence

      · Maintenance check engineering experience on Boeing/Airbus aircraft

      · Knowledge of FARS (especially 145, 25 and 121)

      · Strong skills in MS office applications (Excel, word, powerpoint, etc.)
