- As part of our team, you are responsible for implementing and optimizing PAT systems in production processes, ensuring proper operations and functionality within production units and continuously working on improving and optimizing maintenance and further developing the implemented PAT systems.
- You are responsible for project management of complex PAT projects according to engineering guidelines as well as for projects from detailed planning to execution, start-up, implementation, and handover to production clusters (new PAT systems, tailor-made and prototype experimental setups, automated performance tests).
- Moreover, you prepare tender offers, coordinate equipment sourcing with procurement and evaluate and select appropriate offers.
- Commissioning of contractors, coordination and supervision of executed work packages according to BASF safety and quality requirements, and processing of contract work in the mandatory BASF systems are also part of your responsibilities.
- You supervise and further develop PAT IT infrastructure, networks, servers, firewalls, and remote control.
- You ensure proper documentation within the respective data management systems, and you follow the BASF EHSQ concept according to all regulations on safety, health, environmental protection, quality, and energy management.
- Last but not least, you identify current or future possibilities for the application of PAT technology, execute feasibility studies, and foster knowledge build-up, exchange and transfer and you support production clusters and the PAT service unit regarding maintenance and operation of PAT measuring systems, training of production colleagues at new PAT measuring points, and supervision of automated tests.
- successfully completed university degree in engineering (e.g. process technology or electrical engineering) or degree in chemistry, physics or related sciences
- expert knowledge in analytics (methods, measuring systems and chemistry) as well as profound knowledge of production processes, process control and process automation technology
- professional experience with PAT systems and legal requirements/technical regulations framework (EHSQ)
- profound knowledge in special IT applications, digitalization of PAT systems, network and server architectures, integration into process control systems, remote control, document management systems, SAP and project management software
- deep knowledge in project management, change management, risk assessment as well as presentation techniques
- open and convincing communication, hands-on-mentality as well as an enthusiastic, creative and entrepreneurial way of working
- full professional proficiency in German and English

RESPONSIBILITIES
Our Engineering unit manages the measuring points for Process Analytical Technology (PAT) at the Düsseldorf-Holthausen site. The focus lies on process optimization and the protection of personnel, assets and the environment.
