      Who we’re looking for

      Toyota’s Powertrain Quality Engineering Department is looking for a passionate and highly motivated Quality Engineer.

      The primary responsibility of this role is to support Mass Production Quality Engineering functions, including Assembly and Machining Operations of Axles and Engines as well as Supplier Management.

      Reporting to the QE Manager of Powertrain, the person in this role will be supporting the PWT Quality department's Mission, Vision, and Hoshin objectives, and provide technical support for quality concerns for finished and supplied parts.

      What you’ll be doing

      • Support development and execution of Section Hoshin and Annual Plan goals.

      • Support activities and systems that improve and maintain ZERO Quality Flow Out for completed and supplied parts and Lead Supplier quality improvement

      • Develop & create Quality Plans and Strategies for Change Point Management, Warranty & Supplier Improvement, and QAN network analysis.

      • Cross-Functional Collaboration with engineering, production and design teams to ensure quality is integrated into all stages of product life cycle.

      • Provide guidance and mentorship to quality engineers and production groups.

      • Knowledge and Practical use of Toyota Problem Solving Methods.

      • Create Quality Check Standards for Machining and Assembly Processes.

      • Lead and influence quality initiatives, major, minor projects, drive process improvements.

      What you bring

      • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or technical related discipline or 3 to 5 years of equivalent professional work experience in Quality Engineering and/or Powertrain

      • Direct experience in Quality Engineering and/or Powertrain

      • Experience with Quality/Manufacturing and inspection standards including development and application of standards

      • Experience demonstrating Go and See mentality to confirm actual conditions within a manufacturing environment

      • Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and present findings and recommendations to management.

      • Experience coordinating and leading problem-solving activities with internal and external groups

      • Experience working with all levels of team members & upper management including reporting out

      • Flexibility to work overtime as needed

      • Available to travel as needed both domestically and internationally

      Added bonus if you have

      • Experience with SQAM and QIMS documentation and systems

      • Working knowledge of QAN

      • Working knowledge and experience with engine and axle systems

      • Experience with machining, assembly and/or casting processes

      • Experience with quality testing such as raw material inspection, hardness testing, cut checks or similar
