Non-union. This position is permanent full time.
Manage assigned projects involving review of engineering design, developing plans, and executing the commissioning of facilities or SCADA system improvements.
Development and maintenance of SCADA databases, HMIs, and additional applications including, but not limited to, alarm management, display management, gas accounting and gas supply systems.
Provide technical support in the investigation, analysis and resolution of SCADA systems, SQL Database, Gas Measurement accounting system or communication problems.
Provide on-call support for the SCADA system.
Identify opportunities, challenge current practices, and provide advice for SCADA maintenance, procedures, and support strategies to ensure alignment with industry trends and best practices.
Participate in the development and delivery of information provided for facilitating change management of operational and cyber-security SCADA improvements.
Prepare, review, approve software and business reports, evaluating and implementing new operational technology to provide cost optimization while meeting business and legislated requirements.
Develop and/or deliver technical training for SCADA operators and technical support personnel.
Oversee contract staff providing instruction and guidance.
Other related duties as assigned.
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Electrical, Electronics, Computer or Software Systems is preferred. Industrial and other may be considered), or a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science.
Professional Engineer Designation registered to practice in Saskatchewan.
Five (5) years of progressive experience related to OT systems in the oil and gas industry, including working knowledge of industry standard SCADA equipment and protocols.
Demonstrated competency in software, computer, and communications.
Demonstrated competency in troubleshooting and complex problem solving.
Working knowledge of SCADA best practices, standards, operating procedures, Visual Basic, and SQL would be considered an asset.
Ability to work on a team while building and maintaining effective relationships.
Must have a continuing record of professional development and continuous learning.
Position is subject to an on-call rotation.
Travel, including overnight stays away from headquarters, is required on occasion.
A valid Class 5 Driver’s license is required.
