Job Description

- Design, develop, and maintain system architectures for software applications.
- Develop, implement, and maintain configuration management plans, policies, and procedures.
- Ensure all project changes are accurately tracked and documented via Configuration Control Boards (CCB).
- Manage and maintain configuration items (CIs), including their documentation, records, and lifecycle from creation through decommission.
- Develop and maintain data management plans, ensuring data is accurately captured, stored, and retrieved in accordance with policies.
- Conduct regular audits and reviews of configuration items and data to verify compliance with company standards and program requirements.
- Prepare and present reports on configuration and data management activities to program leadership and stakeholders.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure system integration and compatibility as well as smooth implementation of configuration and data management processes
- General system engineering duties
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Clearance
- BS STEM degree in Engineering, Physics, Math, Computer Science, or related discipline and 2 years of related experience; 0 years of related experience with a Masters.
- Proven experience in systems engineering or a similar role
- Strong understanding of configuration and data management principles, standards, and best practices.
- Proficient with configuration management tools and software (e.g., IBM Rational ClearCase, Git, Bitbucket).
- Experience in maintaining and auditing CM/DM records and documentation.
- Excellent organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Attention to detail and a focus on accuracy and quality.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present complex
- Active DoD TS/SCI clearance
- Certification in Configuration Management (CM2, ITIL, etc.).
- Familiarity with defense or aerospace project requirements and documentation standards.

The Systems Engineer is responsible for developing and maintaining system architectures for software applications, managing and maintaining the integrity and traceability of project configuration and data management processes. The Systems Engineer will coordinate with various teams to ensure that system integration and compatibility, configuration and data management activities align with program needs and company policies. This role is critical in ensuring that all program data is accurately tracked, documented, and accessible, supporting efficient, high-quality program execution. This position is a on-site role and does not offer remote option. Relocation assistance is not available.
