    • Develops and implements lesson plans that fulfill the requirements of the district's curriculum program and show written evidence of preparation as required and prepare lessons that reflect accommodations for differences in student learning styles.
    • Plans and uses appropriate instructional and learning strategies, activities, materials, and equipment that reflects understanding of the learning styles and needs of students assigned. Present subject matter according to guidelines established by TEA, board policies, and administrative regulations.
    • Conducts assessment of student learning styles and uses to plan instructional activities.
    • Works cooperatively with special education teachers to modify curriculum as needed for special education students according to guidelines established in Individual Education Plans (IEP).
    • Plan and supervise assignments of teacher aides(s) and volunteer(s).
    • Use technology to strengthen the teaching/learning process.
    • Help students analyze and improve study methods and habits.
    • Conducts ongoing assessment of student achievement through formal and informal testing.
    • Assume responsibility for extracurricular activities as assigned. Sponsor outside activities approved by the campus principal.
    • Career and Technical Student Organization club sponsor.
    • Be a positive role model for students, support the mission of the school district.
    • Creates a classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate for the physical, social, and emotional development of students.
    • Manages student behavior in accordance with the Student Code of Conduct and student handbook.
    • Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
    • Assist in the selection of books, equipment, and other instructional materials.
    • Establish and maintain open communication by conducting conferences with parents, students, principals, and teachers.

      Engineering and Architecture Teacher

      The position for an Engineering and Architecture Teacher will be available at East Central ISD for the 2024-2025 school year.       POSITION FUNCTION/PURPOSE: Provide students with appropriate learning activities and experiences designed to fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth. Enable students to develop competencies and skills to function successfully in society.

      MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
      Education/Certification:
      Bachelor’s degree
      Mathematics/Physical Science/Engineering (6-12) or (8-12); Secondary Industrial Arts (6-12); Secondary Industrial Technology (6-12); Technology Education (6-12); OR Trade and Industrial Education (6-12);
      ** This assignment requires appropriate work approval, or Vocational Trades and Industry - This assignment requires appropriate work approval, or eligible to be accepted in an alternative teacher certification program.
      Valid Texas driver license with a driving record that meets the requirements of the district
      Industry Validated Certifications in the Engineering or Architecture field are preferred.

      WORKING CONDITIONS: Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors: Maintain emotional control under stress; work with frequent interruptions. Work prolonged or irregular hours. Frequent standing, stooping, bending, kneeling, pushing, and pulling. Move small stacks of textbooks, media equipment, desks, and other classroom or adaptive equipment. Regular light lifting and carrying (less than 15 pounds). Work inside, may work outside; regular exposure to noise. May be required to lift and position students with physical disabilities; control behavior through physical restraint, and assist non-ambulatory students. Exposure to biological hazards.
