Job Description

- Understanding different types and sizes of various plumbing materials
- Knowledgeable in basic pumping operations
- Willingness to work as part of a team
- Knowledge of material, methods and the tools involved in the repair of plumbing and like structures
- Ability to identify problems and review related information to develop and implement solutions, guided by the Supervisor.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift or move office products and supplies, up to 20 pounds.
- This function/position has been designated as essential. This means that when SGU is faced with an institutional emergency, employees in such positions may be required to remain at their work location or to report to work to protect, recover, and continue operations at SGU
- A typical work week is 40 hours, Monday to Friday with flexible start, lunch break and end day
- Weekend and overtime work will be as is required.
- No travel anticipated for this position.

Engineering Assistant III - Plumber
within the Maintenance Department.Special note to applicants:

Objective:
The Engineering Assistant II – Plumber must provide exceptional plumbing services with regards to installing, repairing and upgrading all of St. George’s University’s plumbing systems. The Engineering Assistant II – Plumber must work effectively as a member of the Maintenance team, and be champion of the university’s values.
Essential Functions
· Installing of waste and water supply lines
· Installation and repairs of various plumbing fixtures
· Knowledge of mathematical conversions
· Develop an understanding of the water distribution infrastructure through Campus
· Any other duties outlined by Hydro Manager

· Proper use of PPEs.

· Technical training from a reputable organization
· Basic computer literacy and
· A valid D Class driver’s license
