      Job Description

      Canada Post’s Engineering Group is responsible for the development, implementation and continuous improvement of Canada Post Corporation work processes and practices via day-to-day activities and projects. As an Engineering Co-op Student, you will be supporting the implementation of improvements to our work processes and practices, and your work will include the application of industrial engineering concepts such as:

      • Work element analysis
      • Continuous improvement activities
      • Data sampling and data analysis
      • Standards development
      • Problem diagnosis
      • Kaizen or 5S activities

      Qualifications

      Education

      • To be eligible to apply to the CPC Process Engineering Co-op Program, you must be enrolled in an undergraduate engineering program at an accredited Canadian university with a formal co-op or paid internship curriculum component.
      • You may be required to provide proof of enrolment at your academic institution.
      • Preference will be given to, but not limited to industrial, mechanical and systems engineering students.

      • Strong communication skills and ability to liaise with stakeholders at multiple levels–from front-line employees to operations executives.
      • Self-discipline and ability to work independently or with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment.
      • Critical thinking, analytical thinking and organization skills.
      • Knowledge in MS Office, Visio, AutoCAD, etc.
      • A valid provincial drivers license is required.

      Other Information

      NOTE: THIS IS A TWELVE-MONTH STUDENT CO-OP FROM JANUARY 7TH 2024 TO DECEMBER 28TH 2024. THIS POSTION IS LOCATED IN HAMILTON BUT MAY REQUIRE OCCASIONAL TRAVEL TO OTHER CANADA POST FACILITIES IN ONTARIO.
