      Job Title: Engineering Technician / Field Service (50% Travel)

      Job Description

      We are seeking an experienced Engineering Technician with at least two years of field service experience and knowledge of precision cylindrical grinding. Familiarity with centerless grinding and double disc grinding is a plus. The ideal candidate will have expertise in CNC machines with servo drives and motors, as well as Programmable Logic Controls such as Allen Bradley, Fanuc, and Siemens.

      Responsibilities

      • Provide field service in connection with the installation, start-up, service, troubleshooting, repair, or demonstration of grinding machines and their components.
      • Primarily responsible for either the mechanical functions and/or electrical components with the future responsibility of learning all functions of the machine.
      • Identify and evaluate operational problems using analytical skills and ingenuity.
      • Work assigned by supervision, but self-directed in the field with frequent communications from the home office or senior field personnel.
      • Handle unstructured situations with frequent exposure to error, which could cause costly delays or damage customer relations.

      Essential Skills

      • At least two years of field service experience.
      • Knowledge of precision cylindrical grinding.
      • Experience with CNC machines with servo drives and motors.
      • Proficiency in Programmable Logic Controls such as Allen Bradley, Fanuc, Siemens.
      • Proficiency in Microsoft Office software, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
      • Strong analytical ability for problem identification and evaluation.
      • Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time throughout the country.

      Additional Skills & Qualifications

      • Knowledge of centerless grinding and double disc grinding is a plus.
      • Experience in mechanical functions and electrical components.
      • Ability to work overtime and/or on off-shifts as required by business needs.

      Work Environment

      This is a full-time position, requiring 5 days of work per week. The role involves significant travel, with the possibility of up to 50% travel across the country. Projects may range from a few days to several months, though most last about 3 days. Flexibility to work overtime and/or on off-shifts is required based on business needs.

      Pay and Benefits

      The pay range for this position is $61500.00 - $83200.00/yr.
