      In your role as an Engineering Design Checker, your primary responsibilities will include verifying drawings and models, with a specific focus on reviewing and approving standard library part models. You will also conduct additional reviews of drawing packages as required. The end goal is to produce final products that meet product schedule requirements and fulfill customer needs. Your role involves ensuring that design releases are precise, free from errors, cost-effective, and capable of being manufactured. This includes advancing DSR 4-6 models as part of your responsibilities. You will be an integral part of a collaborative team working together to deliver the next generation of mechanical products that support LM Space.

      A candidate typically has:
      Bachelors degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education, with 5 years of professional experience; or 3 years of professional experience with a related Masters degree. Considered career, or journey, level.

      • Proficiency in ASME Y14.5M Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) Standards.
      • Proficient in engineering Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software and model-based product definition.
      • Demonstrated ability to fulfill drawing and model verification criteria. • Minimum 5 years of mechanical design and/or manufacturing experience that included the use and interpretation of engineering design drawings
      • Understanding of and familiarity with Lockheed Martin drafting standards
      • Familiarity with Data Set Standards (DSS) and the associated Data Set Ratings (DSR) with proficiency in DSR4 and DSR6 requirements
      • Currently certified to check both Drawings and Models
      • Familiarity with ASME Y14.41 Digital Product Definition Data Practices
      • Working knowledge of industry standards and federal requirements applicable to mechanical and structural systems
      • Ability to train others on design and drawing practices
      • Experience in modeling and drafting using PTC Creo Parametric CAD Tool
      • Enterprise Product Data Management (EPDM) experience using the Windchill software
      • Familiarity with Industry Standard specifications (NAS, MIL, MS, etc.)
      • Familiarity with LM materials and process specifications (MAP, LAC, EPS, LM, etc.)
      • Ability to manage multiple assignments and customers simultaneously
