      Summary/Objective: Provide current college students or recent graduates with an opportunity to gain practical experience in their area of study. Work side-by-side with civil, structural, transportation and/or structural engineers, landscape architects, and survey professionals in a fast-paced, professional environment to apply knowledge and skills learned through a postsecondary civil engineering program.

      Essential Functions

      • Perform routine aspects of engineering requiring knowledge and application of basic engineering principles under supervision
      • Use computer-assisted engineering software and equipment to perform engineering tasks
      • Collect and prepare data for evaluation
      • Assist in the coordination of projects from conception (feasibility) through final plan preparations
      • Provide support to engineering staff members as needed

      Education/Experience/Skills

      • In progress toward earning a bachelor’s or master’s degree in a civil engineering program (ABET-accredited), preferably at a junior level or above
      • At least a 3.0 GPA
      • Working knowledge of Word and Excel
      • Previous design intern experience preferred
      • Knowledge of AutoCAD and/or Microstation preferred
      • Strong analytical, conceptual, communication and organizational skills
      • Ability to effectively interface with all levels of personnel and management
      • Ability to work and thrive in a team environment
      • Strong problem-solving skills
      • Ability to work productively with minimal supervision
      • Excellent oral and written communication skills
