      Caterpillar’s Earthmoving division is hiring an Engineering Manager for continuous product improvement (CPI) within the Medium Wheel Loader (MWL) product group! In this key role you will help drive continuous improvement to meet our quality goals. You will manage the portfolio of MWL CPI projects and ensure they are completed within time, cost, and effectiveness goals. You will manage a small world-wide team of blackbelts and partner with worldwide facilities, suppliers, product support, engineering and other internal organizations to ensure quality issues on MWL products are getting resolved in a timely manner.

      What You Will Do (Job Duties)

      • Actively manage the MWL CPI project portfolio including target setting, prioritization, resources planning, budget, and timely execution.
      • Collaborate with Product Support, within the Find-it and Fix-it process, to quickly identify and triage emerging issues.
      • Balance product cost changes and project investment with commercial, reliability and warranty impact.
      • Prepare and provide regular updates/reports on quality goals and results including insights into key metrics.
      • Provide CPI subject matter expertise to the worldwide teams; coach teams to continuously improve their capability.
      • Foster an inclusive and high performing culture that encourages high quality results through lean principles including completed staff work, innovation, partnerships, collaboration, and customer focus.
      • Function as a key participant in updating the Earthmoving and Medium Wheel Loader Quality Strategy.

      What You Have (Basic Qualifications):

      • Degree Requirements: Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Engineering
      • Collaborating Globally: Proficient leading and developing teams across multiple locations, fostering collaboration and alignment towards common objectives. Demonstrated ability to understand and respect cultural differences is crucial for effective global leadership.
      • Project Management: Effective project management strategies and tactics; ability to plan, organize, monitor, and control projects, ensuring efficient formulation of resources and utilization these to achieve project objectives.
      • Technical Excellence: Expertise within the product development process for machines, systems, and components with the ability to coach and mentor to develop and provide solutions to significant technical and business challenges. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills enable the creation of solutions that solve our customers’ most challenging problems.
      • Effective Communications: Strong communication skills including the ability to organize and present information confidently to audiences at all levels of the worldwide organization. Willing and able to collaborate with international teams in various time zones.

      Top Candidates Will Have:

      • Deep expertise in engineering of one or more of the following:
        • Product support
        • Product Design
        • Development
        • Validation
        • Off highway machine design
      • Supervisory experience.
      • Lean experience.

      Additional Info:

      • Office Model: Caterpillar requires employees to work onsite in the office five days a week

      Summary Pay Range:

      $144,960.00 - $217,320.00

      Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
