We systematically detect, remove, and prevent problematic accounts, content and behavior, and we make Roblox accounts secure and free from compromise. We cover a broad area of the tech spectrum, including machine learning, classifiers for 3D models, experimentation, automation, detection workflows, and AI-powered text filters. Aligned and partnering with product teams, we use this toolbelt to discover new opportunities, influence and shape the product roadmap and prioritization, build safety products, and measure the impact on our community of users and developers. The Safety Foundation pod is responsible for building the tools that support our global moderation, labeling and customer support workforce and our legal and global compliance teams. The team also works closely with Roblox’s product teams to help them successfully onboard to Roblox’s Safety Platform.   You Will:

  • Help define your team’s roadmap and long term internal tooling strategy
  • Build the tooling to support Roblox’s global workforce including a full suite of workforce management functionality
  • Become an expert in how to make Roblox features safe and assist partner teams in effectively and efficiently onboarding onto the Safety Platform
  • Help extend the Safety Platform to handle the rapidly evolving capabilities of Roblox’s feature set
  • Empower innovation by pushing your team to discover creative and pragmatic solutions to the problem areas you've defined
  • Scale your team's impact by mentoring them individually to grow in their careers as well bringing in top talent

  You Have:

  • Equivalent experience or a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, or a related field, with a minimum of 3+ years of people management experience
  • 7+ years of hands-on experience in software development with experience delivering highly performant backend or fullstack solutions.
  • Programming experience in one compiled (C++, C#, Java) and one interpreted script language (JS, PHP, Python, Lua, etc)
  • Collaboration skills across multiple teams and disciplines

  • Data-Literate: Schema design, telemetry, batch and streaming frameworks at scale. You understand the challenges of keeping data both intuitive to use and trustworthy.
  • User Oriented: You always start with the needs of the user, whether they are Roblox users or internal engineers before architecting a solution.
  • Team Oriented: You lift up your peers and find ways to make the team stronger.
    
    

  For roles that are based at our headquarters in San Mateo, CA: The starting base pay for this position is as shown below. The actual base pay is dependent upon a variety of job-related factors such as professional background, training, work experience, location, business needs and market demand. Therefore, in some circumstances, the actual salary could fall outside of this expected range. This pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. All full-time employees are also eligible for equity compensation and for benefits.

  Annual Salary Range

  $289,460 — $338,270 USD

  Roles that are based in our San Mateo, CA Headquarters are in-office Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, with optional in-office on Monday and Friday (unless otherwise noted).
