      This requisition is filling two (2) openings. These position are being posted at multiple levels.

      Job Definition

      Engineering Tech I

      Assists Engineering Technicians with projects related to the District's facilities and electrical system to meet customer and District needs. Learns and provides basic technical and entry-level engineering services to enable the District to realize its goals and objectives.

      Engineering Tech II

      Manages small to medium sized projects related to the District's facilities and electrical system to meet customer and District needs. Provides technical, engineering, and project management services to enable the District to realize its goals and objectives. Works across Departments in the coordination of customer objectives. Performs as project leader on assigned projects and tasks and serves as main customer contact for projects.

      Engineering Tech III

      Provides technical analyses and support to commercial, industrial and residential customers in the implementation of energy efficiency, distributed energy resource (DER), demand response (DR), and renewable resource measures for projects/programs which may have complex features requiring an overall knowledge of commercial, industrial and residential engineering principles and methods. Leads multiple projects involving all end-use measures for a wide variety of customer facilities.

      Experience/Education

      Engineering Tech I $79,300-99,132

      • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Public Administration, or related field

      OR

      • Four (4) years of engineering, business, or utility experience (i.e., Electric Utility, Telecommunications, etc.).

      Please note the Hiring Manager for this particular Requisition will consider candidates that will meet the Minimum Experience and Education requirements by June 2024.

      Engineering Tech II $88,816-111,028

      • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Public Administration, or related field, AND
      • One (1) year as an Engineering Technician for the District, AND
      • Successful completion of Engineering Technician II written test with a score of 75% or greater*;

      OR

      • Four (4) years of engineering, business, or utility experience (i.e., Electric Utility, Page 4 of 10 Telecommunications, etc.), AND
      • One (1) year as an Engineering Technician for the District, AND
      • Successful completion of Engineering Technician II written test with a score of 75% or greater*;

      OR

      • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Public Administration, or related field, AND
      • Two (2) years of experience in the design, construction, and maintenance of electric distribution systems and facilities, with demonstrated proficiency and accomplishment of work of the nature defined of this job level;

      OR

      • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Public Administration, or related field, AND
      • Two (2) years as an Engineering Technician for the District;

      OR

      • Four (4) years of engineering, business, or utility experience (i.e., Electric Utility, Telecommunications, etc.), AND
      • Two (2) years as an Engineering Technician for the District;

      OR

      • Six (6) years of experience in the design, construction, and maintenance of electric distribution systems and facilities, with demonstrated proficiency and accomplishment of work of the nature defined of this job level.

      *Note: Passing the Engineering Technician II written test with a score of 75% or greater can substitute up to one (1) year of experience for Engineering Technician I to II progression.


      Preferred Education and Experience:

      • Electric Utility Experience

      Experience/Education continued

      Engineering Tech III $111,410-139,264

      • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Public Administration, or related field, AND
      • Three (3) years as an Engineering Technician for the District, AND
      • Successful completion of Engineering Technician III written test with a score of 75% or greater and presentation to review board*;

      OR

      • Four (4) years of engineering, business, or electric utility experience, AND
      • Three (3) years as an Engineering Technician for the District, AND
      • Successful completion of Engineering Technician III written test with a score of 75% or greater and presentation to review board*;

      OR

      • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Public Administration, or related field, AND
      • Four (4) years as an Engineering Technician for the District;

      OR

      • Four (4) years of engineering, business, or electric utility experience, AND
      • Four (4) years as an Engineering Technician for the District;

      OR

      • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Public Administration, or related field, AND
      • Four (4) years of experience in the design, construction, and maintenance of electric distribution systems and facilities;

      OR

      • Eight (8) years of experience in the design, construction, and maintenance of electric distribution systems and facilities.

      *Note: Passing the Engineering Technician III written test with a score of 75% or greater and presentation to review board can substitute up to one (1) year of experience for Engineering Technician II to III progression.
