- Time served as Multi- Skilled Engineer within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong experience as a multiskilled engineer (shift engineer/maintenance engineer/ engineering technician and the likes)
- Experience in mechanical and electrical engineering within Manufacturing, Production and Process environments
- HNC or apprentice trained or proven experience with fast paced manufacturing environment
- Ideally you will have experience with fast- moving machinery, pumps, valves, inverter drives, sensors, relays, PLC’s (Siemens), Site Services (steam generation plant, chilled water systems, com-pressors, processes), CIP systems (chemical cleaning plant)
- Computer literate – SAP, Microsoft Office, SCADA, Trend systems, HMI’S
- Arla Lockerbie has received c.£100 million investment since 2005, of which £34m CAPEX investment has recently been secured to implement new technology on site & house a new facilities building (includes; onsite gym, canteen, meeting rooms, wellbeing room etc).
- 60% of our colleagues at Lockerbie have over 10 years’ service
- 75,000 cows depend on our Lockerbie site to process their milk daily
- If you piled the blocks of cheese we make at Lockerbie in a year end to end, the height would be equivalent to 2,428 Eiffel Towers
- The amount of whey concentrate site produces each year would fill 4 Olympic size (50 meter) swimming pools
- Our Arla Lockerbie site was open by HRH Queen Elizabeth in 1975

- M&E Technician
- Associate professional
- Provides support to a function or operational unit.
- Works within well-established processes and procedures with limited scope to act outside of these.
- Delivers within a short-term timeframe.
- Operates with minimum supervision but typically within clear guidelines.
- Responsible for an effective maintenance service utilising relevant techniques in conjunction with the CMMS.
- Conducts and improves predictive maintenance of line equipment.
- Conducts corrective maintenance in case of site equipment failure and breakdown.
- Secures that relevant spare parts and materials are in place.
- Communicates effectively to report on status of lines and equipment.
- Completes and updates plant maintenance records complying with all departmental procedures.
- Performs all activities in accordance with company and statutory requirements in order to provide a safe and compliant workplace.
- Utilizes CMMS systems and reporting suites.
- Completes root cause analysis with relevant site teams.
- Defines key process parameters and ranges yielding optimal OEE.
- Supports the implementation of maintenance excellence.
- Skilled technical education.
- 1-3 years of technical and/or maintenance experience after completed training or an Arla Foods-trained maintenance technician.
- Knowledge of LEAN principles.
- For UK: HNC or equivalent in an Engineering discipline with an indentured apprenticeship with individual merits. Arla Foods qualification to Engineering Technician level/NVQ Level 3, Eden Engineer.

What will the role look like?
You will get the chance to work at one of Arla’s largest Dairies with state of the art equipment and solid career development. As a Multi- Skilled Engineer at Arla, you will save the day if there is a breakdown as well as participating in planned preventative maintenance. Alongside your day to day, you’ll get involved in Continuous Improvement and project work, contributing to Arla’s continued growth.
You will be working on equipment including: Milk pasteurisation, homogenisers, separators process systems, filers, Slicers, cartoners, bottle labellers, cappers, packers, blow moulding machines, weighers, flow wrappers, shrink wrappers, trolley packers. Palletisers, de-palletisers, conveyor lines (chain, spiral), robots (Kuka), vision systems, Spectrum TX rejection systems / OEMS such as Siemens, Krones, Tetra Pak, SPX flow, ISOMA, Hueft, Nepas, Alpla & Grunwald.
