      Description

      SAIC is looking for an Engineering Technician VI in Crane, IN to support the U.S. Navy.

      JOB DESCRIPTION

      • The person in this position must have extensive working knowledge of the Government's competition requirements, acquisition planning, contracting methods, and contract types.
      • Edit and review for accuracy a variety of project documents including test reports, test plans, statements of work, proposals, presentations, and correspondence for technical content for the Acquisition Branch.
      • Evaluate and develop procedures and acceptance criteria for systems, subsystems, equipment, and components as required by the Government. These procedures and criteria include: test and evaluation; maintenance and logistics requirements; manufacturing processes, methods, and technologies incident to development and initial projection for new items as well as major modification and improvement programs for existing items. Candidate shall ensure that adequate data has been generated for reproducibility and shall perform production related engineering tasks in accordance with specifications.
      • Attend and monitor tests performed at both on-site and remote test locations to ensure document adherence to appropriate test procedures by test operators. Monitoring may require use of sophisticated measuring equipment. Candidate shall document any discrepancies found during test operations, evaluate the test results, and make recommendations to the Government. Candidate shall analyze, design, configuration, construction, specifications or any other criteria resulting from the test data review and provide improvement justification and recommendations to the Government for review and approval.
      • Support the Acquisition Branch Configuration Management (CM) functions as needed for the acquisition process. Access to the Conventional Ordnance Resource Program (CORP) is required. The functions may include linking of various Configuration Management type documents in CM/CORP once processed through status accounting, breakdown engineering drawings in CM/CORP, adding new documents to CM/CORP database.

      Qualifications

      REQUIREMENTS

      • Associate's Degree in related field and at least 6 years of related experience with 1 year of specialized experience with ordnance
      • Must be able to obtain a Secret Clearance; Interim Secret needed to start
      • Must be a U.S. Citizen
      • Must be able to obtain an Explosive Certification
      • Must have extensive working knowledge of the Government's competition requirements, acquisition planning, contracting methods, and contract types
      • Must have Microsoft Office experience (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
