- Engineering Technology Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
- Knowledge of powertrain, engine or OBD calibration, emissions control, fuel systems, and associated tools.
- Strong technical and oral communication skills.
- Strong computer skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, accessing databases, etc.).
- Ability to leverage vehicle diagnostic tools including DET, MyCanic FD, and FDRS.
- Detail oriented self-starter, with the ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks with minimal supervision.
- Ability to interact effectively with management and other organizations including government agencies.
- Ability to interact effectively through e-mail, telephone, WebEx, etc.
- Familiarity with emissions/fuel economy regulations and emissions testing/procedures desirable.
- Familiarity with Environmental Aspects pertaining to waste products created within garage.
- Work closely with certification team members and development leads to update vehicle software and diagnose hardware and software issues gating test readiness within garage.
- Manage and facilitate required flashing events within diagnostic garage and record actions completed.
- Provide technical direction to requesting engineers to ensure prototype vehicle test readiness.
- Work to assist all levels of vehicle flash events and provide diagnosis of software performance and compatibility issues.
- Maintain testing assets needed for electrical updates and diagnostic applications.
- Provide support to lab testing personnel to enable test throughput success.
- Interact directly with Team Leads, Parts Ordering Specialist, and Certification/Fuel Economy management to ensure coordination of software compatibility needs in line with emissions block timing test plans.
- Download required software from IVS development package as prescribed within Certification eWhitepapers.
- Coordinate with development team as needed to ensure test vehicle calibration documentation conformance within certification Electronic Vehicle Books (eVB)/ePCN systems.
- Maintain records of work performed, including HW and SW part cataloguing in line with compliance-driven policies and procedures.
- Assist with prototype vehicle issue resolution for Ford certification/homologation programs.
- Removal and replacement of vehicle mechanical or electrical systems using approved service procedures for internal combustion and electric vehicles.
- Diagnose electronic and mechanical system malfunction on pre-production development and certification vehicles, providing technical assistance to engineering personnel.
- PCM parameter acquisition, analysis, and troubleshooting for various electronic control modules using Ford diagnostic instrumentation and software tools.
- Vehicle certification test preparation, EPA confirmatory test preparation, and on-site drive mode entry/exit condition familiarity using approved procedures.

Engineering technologist opportunity to work directly on prototype builds within APTL Diagnostic Garage supporting test readiness, early misbuild detection, and issue resolution for Emissions and Fuel Economy compliance.
