      Job summary

      This is an exciting new Enhanced Nurse role based at Cookham Medical Centre, a well-established training practice with strong clinical supervision systems. As the first Enhanced Nurse within Maidenhead PCN, you'll be pioneering this role while having access to support from a diverse 45-person multidisciplinary team across the network.

      This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop enhanced nursing practice within a supportive training environment while contributing to the broader development of services across Maidenhead PCN. The post-holder will benefit from both practice-level support and the resources of a well-established PCN team.

      Working Pattern:

      • Based primarily at Cookham Medical Centre
      • 37.5 hrs per week
      • Some flexibility may be required for PCN-wide activities
      • Regular protected time for supervision and training
      • Participation in practice and PCN meetings as required

      Main duties of the job

      Clinical Supervision & Support

      • Direct clinical supervision provided by GP trainers at Cookham Medical Centre
      • Additional PCN-level supervision and support structure
      • Access to PCN-wide multidisciplinary team for collaborative working
      • Opportunity to help shape the development of the Enhanced Nurse role across the PCN

      • Registered Health Care Professional (eg HCPC - NMC)
      • Has a post graduate qualification at level 7 or above relevant to their area of enhanced practice, for example in wound care, diabetes plus respiratory and CVD, dementia, COPD, Asthma.
      • Demonstrate the ability to work in a highly demanding environment.
      • Ability to work independently and make autonomous clinical decision within own area of competence.
      • Evidence of continuing professional development.
      • High level communication skills, both written and verbal.
      • Ability to reflect on own practice.

      Desirable

      • Has worked within primary care in services that enhance the core general practice offer.
      • Working at an enhanced level of practice as described in the Primary Care and General Practice Nursing Career and Core Capabilities Framework.
      • Knowledge of audit - research and experience of analysing findings to improve practice.
