We have an exciting opportunity for an Enterprise Architect to join the Enterprise Architecture and Data Governance team based in London on a permanent basis (hybrid working).
Who we are
Railpen is responsible for the safekeeping and investment of around £34 billion in assets and the administration of several pension schemes, including the Railways Pension Scheme, one of the UK's largest and longest established pension funds.
Our heritage of looking after the pension needs of the rail industry and its employees gives us our name and our unique outlook on how we serve our members. Railpen takes a holistic view, focusing on how we serve members today and how we can positively impact the communities and the world they will retire into.
Our values of integrity, community and alignment are the guiding principles that influence our behaviour. They help us make decisions and shape our interactions with others. They’re what we stand for.
The role
The role of the Enterprise Architect within Railpen is to act as a bridge between technology and the business. It will be instrumental in shaping the technology landscape, ensuring alignment to the business strategy, and driving innovation. As an Enterprise Architect, you will work closely with the Director of Enterprise Architecture and Data Governance to support the implementation of key strategic outcomes and change initiatives and designing the technology landscape. You will support and guide change within the organisation and ensure the alignment and optimisation of Enterprise Architecture with business goals, legislation, and industry best practise.
The person
We are looking for an Enterprise Architect who can demonstrate a strong track record in understanding Enterprise Architecture and its subdomains. Knowledge of designing, building, and promoting the Enterprise Architecture function within the organisation is key. You will have extensive experience of working with industry standard Architecture frameworks such as TOGAF. As an SME, you will have expertise in providing a strategic view across all architectural domains, portfolios, and programmes. It would be a distinct advantage if you were familiar with using the Bizzdesign Enterprise Studio and Horizzon toolset, however this is not essential.
As an Enterprise Architect, you will be an effective communicator who is able to collaborate with a variety of stakeholders at all levels across the organisation, whilst being able to adapt your approach based on the stakeholders needs. As part of this you will have the ability to identify potential architectural risks and articulate innovative mitigations.
