Leading the business application and integration architecture domain, ensuring it forms a strategically aligned technical architecture, and providing thought leadership, marrying best practice and market trends, with the FCA context
Defining and maintaining enterprise business application strategies and roadmaps which supports the realisation of Business and Technology Strategy
Defining, documenting, and maintaining patterns, policies, standards, guidelines and principles for the business application and integration domain, ensuring that these can be adopted successfully by the Product Groups
Providing architectural governance, by working with Product Groups and Programmes, and by chairing/participating in governance boards, to ensure solutions are aligned to the strategy and technology direction
Interfacing with senior business and technology leaders, as trusted advisor, and expert, to influence and guide opinion and decision making, within the domain
Developing a central repository of tools, data stores and artefacts to support the Strategy & Architecture function. Supporting the Community of Practice
Stimulating, innovative and experimental work to solve the biggest challenges facing financial regulation, with market leading technologies and practices

Significant experience in applying architecture principles to affect changes to a business environment and application and integration architecture
Knowledge of architectural governance processes and formal architecture methodologies and frameworks
Involvement in working within or an appreciation of Infrastructure, Software and Platform as a Service (IaaS, SaaS & PaaS)
Experience of developing and promoting innovative technical strategies and demonstrating understanding of the interactions between people, processes and technology
Ability to take a holistic view of the organisation and its business needs ensuring cross functional considerations are accounted for
Know how to grasp issues of a business nature, apply strategic and innovative thinking to develop pragmatic solutions and assess the technical impact
Excellent stakeholder management at all levels, negotiating and influencing skills, with good consulting and relationship management skills working comfortably at all levels of the organisation across differing levels of technical capability
Experience of SAFe, Agile, ITIL, DevSecOps TOGAF or Zachman
Deep knowledge of a broad range of technology and technology trends
Experience of working with multiple solutions service providers and reviewing and recommending sourcing options for delivering the target enterprise business application and integration platforms
Significant experience of API integration, containerisation and microservices
Knowledge of cloud technology platforms (AWS, O365, GCP)
Enterprise Platform Architect
Salary: National ranging from £70,000 to £90,000 and London from £80,000 to £100,000

The team/department
We are looking for an experienced Enterprise Platform Architect with strong communication and stakeholder management skills. You'll be looking for an opportunity to bring fresh knowledge into the FCA, to work with the technical teams across our product groups and programmes, and with our technical and business leadership and make a substantial and valued contribution in a role that offers great challenges both in the immediate future and as the team develops its capabilities.
You'll be up to speed on modern application architecture and integration, you will also have a good understanding of business, technology, data and infrastructure architecture built on cloud frameworks. The Platform Architect is responsible for ensuring the choices the organisation makes support the current and future business needs. The role contributes to the technical vision for the FCA and helps ensure this vision and associated technology roadmaps are widely communicated.
