      Entry-Level Electrical Engineer

      Job Summary

      POWER Engineers is seeking an entry-level Electrical Engineer to work in the Power Delivery – Small Utilities Department in our Tyler, TX office.

      Roles and Responsibilities

      The Electrical Engineer candidate will perform a variety of engineering tasks as assigned by our electric utility clients, including substation, transmission, and distribution. They are expected to maintain POWER's high-quality standards, promote internal teamwork, and meet the needs of our clients.

      Details of responsibilities but not limited to:

      • Perform the detailed design of low to extra high voltage substations including, but not limited to:
        • Physical design
        • P&C design
      • System relaying and protection, including substation relaying, transmission line relaying, and distribution coordination studies.
      • Perform the detailed design of distribution lines up to 25kV, including overhead and underground design.
      • Perform the detailed design of transmission lines up to 345kV.
      • Support QA/QC for deliverables to clients.
      • Shall have the ability to manage multiple tasks and work effectively within a team setting.
      • Shall learn, understand, and adhere to department standards and processes while working individually or within a team to complete complex and technically challenging designs for our clients.

      Required Education/Experience

      • BSEE (BS Electrical Engineering) or BSEET (BS Electrical Engineering Technology) degree, from an ABET-accredited university preferably with a power option.
      • Must have strong knowledge and understanding of electrical engineering to build on.
      • Must have a strong command of the English language with good written and oral communication skills in order to work effectively with internal team members and external client personnel.
      • Must be legally authorized to work permanently in the U.S. without the need for work sponsorship.
      • Must have a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.

      Desired Education/Experience

      • Internship or co-op experience with electric utilities or industrial facilities.
      • Engineer In Training certificate (EIT) or passed the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam.
