      Job Title: Distribution Engineer I

      Job Description

      We are seeking enthusiastic individuals with an Engineering degree to join our team as Distribution Engineers. In this role, you will focus on Distribution projects and work alongside advanced level Distribution Engineers who will provide comprehensive training. Your main responsibilities will involve performing engineering calculations such as structural analysis, cable pulling, and coordinating protective devices. Additionally, you will prepare forestry trimming requests, facilitate permit acquisition, and develop a Bill of Materials (BOM) while estimating costs. This position is predominantly design-focused, with occasional fieldwork required after several months.

      Responsibilities

      • Perform engineering calculations including structural analysis of poles, guying, cable pulling, electric demand, fault currents, and protective device coordination.
      • Prepare forestry trimming requests and facilitate permit and Right-of-Way acquisition.
      • Develop a Bill of Materials (BOM) and estimate project costs.
      • Focus on design development and coordination for distribution projects (90% of the role).
      • Conduct occasional fieldwork as needed (10% of the role).

      Essential Skills

      • AutoCAD proficiency.
      • Knowledge of power distribution.
      • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, or Structural Engineering.
      • ABET accredited Engineering Degree.

      Additional Skills & Qualifications

      • Experience with CAD design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, Solidworks, MicroStation, Inventor, MATLAB.
      • Valid Driver's License.
      • Passion and interest in Power Utilities and Distribution.
      • Teamwork and leadership skills.

      Work Environment

      This is a fully on-site position located in Orlando, FL.

      Pay and Benefits

      The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $28.00/hr.
