      Job Title: Project Engineer


      Job Description

      The Project Engineer will be traveling 50% of the time to automotive facilities, assisting the Project Manager in quoting new projects and overseeing installation. Typically, they are not out of town for more than 3 weeks before returning to Birmingham.

      Responsibilities

      • Assist the Project Manager with quoting new projects.
      • Oversee the installation of projects at automotive facilities.
      • Schedule project timelines and activities.
      • Attend client meetings to discuss project progress.
      • Write purchase orders (POs) for necessary materials.
      • Procure materials required for projects.
      • Contribute to design tasks as needed.

      Essential Skills

      • Experience in project management.
      • Knowledge in industrial engineering and manufacturing engineering.
      • Skills in project coordination and project engineering.
      • Understanding of mechanical engineering principles.
      • Experience with capital expenditure (capex) projects.
      • Ability to manage project timelines.

      Additional Skills & Qualifications

      • Mechanical Engineering graduate with industrial experience preferred.
      • Construction Management graduates may be considered but will face a learning curve.
      • Autocad experience is advantageous but not required.
      • Familiarity with PLC/Controls is a plus.

      Work Environment

      The work environment is a loud indoor manufacturing site. Weekend, holiday, and plant shutdown work is expected. Employees who work both days of the weekend are normally allowed to take a couple of days off during the week.

      Pay and Benefits

      The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $38.50/hr.
