Job Description

Candidates will be working in the warehouse and slab yard helping to guide large slabs of natural and manufactured stone to the viewing area and the shipping docks. Seeking candidates with a good attitude that are willing to learn. Part of the warehouse is outside, so candidates need to be okay with being exposed to some of the elements and will be doing a lot of walking. The role requires minimal heavy lifting, as it entails more guiding and maneuvering the slabs. Basic customer interaction is also part of the job.

Responsibilities

• Guide large slabs of natural and manufactured stone to viewing areas and shipping docks
• Assist in warehouse and slab yard operations
• Interact with customers in a professional manner
• Work both indoors and outdoors, exposed to various weather conditions
• Walk approximately 6-10 miles a day

Essential Skills

• Warehouse experience
• Labor experience
• Construction experience
• Experience with tile and stone handling

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Open to entry-level candidates
• Forklift experience helpful but not required
• Ability to work in adverse weather conditions
• Ability to stand and walk all day

Work Environment

The work environment is a warehouse setting, part of which is outdoors. The company is a national distributor of natural and manufactured stone, tile, and other solid surfaces for commercial and residential applications. The warehouse is open on Saturdays with optional overtime available and closed on Sundays and holidays. Water, ice, Gatorade, and coffee are provided, and employees are given frequent small breaks in the summer to stay hydrated. The dress code includes steel-toed shoes, work jeans, and a plain t-shirt. Employees need comfortable closed-toed steel shoes as there is a lot of walking involved.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $17.00/hr.
