      THE THIRD FLOOR is the world’s leading visualization company with offices in Los Angeles and London as well as on location with productions around the world. Since 2004, the studio has helped clients visualize and maximize content by producing computer-animated blueprints, known as “previsualizations”. The Third Floor is a fun, creative company founded by artists, for artists. We work on extremely high-profile projects, while maintaining a small studio culture. The company has won multiple Emmy and VES awards for its work. Recent projects include WandaVision and Hawkeye, Wonder Woman 1984, The Mandalorian, and many more.

      The Third Floor is looking for an enthusiastic Environment Supervisor to join our new Animation Department. The Environment Supervisor will oversee a team of 3D artists to create stylized 3D environments, as well as work with members of other departments to ensure artistic styles and pipelines are being implemented. Utilizing their artistic skills and vision, the ideal candidate will be able to help create high level environment designs and yield high production quality, while ensuring that projects are on schedule and budget. Candidates should be familiar with ZBrush, Maya, and Finals Animation/CG Pipeline.

      Full Time. Remote Position. Must be in the state of California, Georgia, Texas, Oregon, Connecticut, Florida, New Jersey, New York (Outside NYC), Colorado, Washington, or Canada for remote positions.

      Responsibilities:

      • Lead a team of 3D artists to create 3D assets, both modeling and texturing, for stylized environments.

      • Work with a team of art directors and designers to ensure high level designs are achieved

      • Work with other departments to break down scenes to understand responsibilities between various departments.

      • Work with outsource vendors to help explain style and help out with achieving the approved artistic look.

      • Help artists adhere to established standards and to publish assets properly.

      • Work with pipeline and help give feedback on tools to ease the flow of asset creation.

      Essential Skills:

      • Expert knowledge in Maya and ability to model/retopo as needed.

      • Good knowledge of sculpting packages such as zbrush/mudbox.

      • Able to implement and apply different styles from concept to 3d assets, both in models and textures

      • Experience as a 3D environment artist in film, tv, or games industry.

      • Good knowledge of unreal and/or real-time pipelines

      • Strong modelling, texturing, and uv skills

      • Knowledge of texturing packages such as Photoshop, Substance Painter, Mari, etc.

      • 2D Skills to quickly mock-up and iterate designs

      • Experience in matte painting/projection workflows. (plus)

      • Prior experience in an animated feature film (plus)

      Personal attributes:

      • Organized and able to communicate with other departments effectively

      • Able to discern priorities and find efficient workflows within the time allotted

      • Self-starter and can reach a goal with minimal direction.

      The pay scale is between $130,000 - $150,000 salary based on experience, skillset and other factors. Additional TTF benefits: Health Insurance (Medical, Dental, Vision), Sick Time, 401k (staff only), PTO (staff only), and additional Perks & Benefits.
