- Support and consult on less complex technical environmental initiatives within functional area
- Review third party consultant technical reports for adequacy and conformance to industry standards
- Develop the ability to review and evaluate Phase I Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs), Phase II ESAs, remedial investigation, remedial action plans, and other limited-scope environmental due diligence reports
- Develop the ability to review and evaluate complex environmental issues, including quantification of remedial costs and schedules, and determining scope of work for Phase II investigations to assess soil, soil vapor, groundwater, and vapor intrusion issues
- Develop the ability to analyze complex transaction and collateral information, apply environmental policy, and order third party reports
- Identify opportunities for process improvements within scope of responsibilities or functional area
- Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues, and managers to resolve issues and achieve goals
- Interact with internal and external customers
- 2+ years of construction or environmental engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
- BS Degree (Environmental/Engineering/Geology) with at least 2 years of progressive experience and responsibilities in the area of environmental risk management or environmental consulting
- Knowledge and understanding of environmental risk management lending issues
- Knowledge and understanding of ASTM E1527-13 and -21 standards
- Ability to communicate policy and environmental issues with lending representatives
- Demonstrated ability to document and communicate complex review findings in actionable business terms
- Ability to meet deadlines
- Exceptional organization skills
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team environment
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work accurately
- Customer service focus with experience actively listening, eliciting information, comprehending customer issues/needs, and recommending solutions
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills

- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision in a structured environment
- Advanced Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and Outlook) skills

About this role:
Wells Fargo is seeking an Environmental Consultant to join our two-year development program with Real Estate Valuation Services (REVS) group. In this role you will gain training and development with our experienced lead consultants to work towards a great career within a role that supports environmental risk management for commercial real estate lending. While working with your peers you will work on evaluating and reviewing technical environmental documents to determine conformance with industry standards, identify risks that may affect the collateral value or impact underwriting decisions, and determine acceptability of real estate collateral. You may also be involved in the review of recommending mitigation strategies to minimize risks.
