      Basic Job Functions:

      The role of the Environmental Engineer includes, but is not limited to, maintaining compliance with all environmental regulations, interpretation of environmental regulations, implementation and operation of environmental programs, permitting, working with and building relationships with environmental regulators and inspectors, reporting, emergency response and environmental training. Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

      Minimum Qualifications:

      1. Four year degree in Engineering, Environmental Science or related discipline
      2. Must have or be willing to acquire certifications for 40 hour Radiation Safety Officer (RSO) and 24 hour Hazardous Waste Operator (HAZWOPER) training, Class C Waste Water Operator, and Drinking Water Operator

      Preferred Qualifications:

      1. Experience in environmental compliance
      2. Experience in bag house and water treatment operations, pollution control and monitoring equipment
      3. Experience in ISO 14001 EMS and auditing
