      ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

      Kaiser Aluminum is seeking an experienced Environmental Engineering Manager to lead the environmental program at our Trentwood facility. This role is responsible for managing all environmental media (air, water, soil, groundwater) and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. In addition, the position requires oversight of an ongoing groundwater cleanup remediation project. The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership, technical expertise, and a passion for sustainability.

      The Environmental Engineers essential functions include:

      • Lead and manage all aspects of the environmental program for the Trentwood site.
      • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local environmental regulations.
      • Support plant operations with regulatory guidance and process engineering.
      • Oversee environmental aspects of capital projects and operational changes.
      • Interface with regulatory agencies to obtain permits and approvals.
      • Manage environmental issues related to acquisitions, divestitures, and shutdowns.
      • Collaborate with corporate environmental and legal teams.
      • Engage with public groups and external consultants.
      • Monitor and influence environmental regulations through direct collaboration with other stakeholders and trade group involvement.
      • Manage environmental budgets and SEC/SOX accrual processes.
      • Maintain environmental records and submit agency reports.
      • Set performance standards and metrics for direct reports.

      Qualifications

      EDUCATION

      This individual will possess:

      • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or natural sciences (chemistry, biology, etc.) required.
      • Master’s degree preferred.

      EXPERIENCE

      This individual will possess:

      • 10+ years of environmental engineering experience, including 3+ years managing an industrial facility’s environmental program.
      • Experience with regulatory enforcement and environmental litigation.
      • Strong knowledge of site cleanup, air, wastewater, and PCB regulations.
      • Excellent communication, analytical, and organizational skills.
      • Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and work collaboratively.

      WORK ENVIRONMENT

      • 90% office-based, 10% in-plant with exposure to manufacturing operations.
