      What you will do

      You will be responsible for fostering a world-class Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) culture. By providing guidance, coaching, and mentorship to employees at all levels within the manufacturing facilities, you will be instrumental in the improvement of the Johnson Controls Data Center Solutions (DCS)/Silent-Aire EHS performance.

      How you will do it

      • Work with Regional EHS leaders to establish corporate EHS policies, procedures, and best practices.

      • Implement the organization’s EHS Management System(s).

      • Participate in annual document reviews with the intent to improve upon existing corporate EHS policies, procedures, and best practices.

      • Track and maintain local EHS Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) including the publishing of such data for internal stakeholders.

      • Act as a positive change agent in supporting corporate EHS visions and new initiatives.

      • Manage, coach, and mentor a team of local EHS professionals to help implement the corporate Environmental, Health, and Safety Management System(s) within their location of responsibility.

      • Track and advise local leadership on current and proposed changes to applicable federal, provincial/state, or municipal EHS legislation to ensure compliance.

      • Manage Workers Compensation Board claims and accounts within region of responsibility to ensure local reporting requirements are met and claims are managed until closed.

      • Manage Silent-Aire’s EHS tracking system within region of responsibility to ensure inputs and outputs are meeting the organizations requirements.

      • Provide local leadership with regular updates, reports, and suggestions for improvement on operational EHS issues.

      • Advise management and supervisors on regulatory requirements for the control of hazards.

      • Support the education and training of employees on EHS practices.

      • Lead near-miss and incident investigations as per the organization’s incident management process.

      • Review hazard and incident reports and hazard reports to identify trends and opportunities that need improvement.

      • Perform or aid in the completion of external or internal EHS audits including the development of action plans.

      • Other tasks and duties as allocated.

      What we look for

      Required:

      • Five (5) to 10 years of experience in a direct health and safety management role

      • Education in Environmental, Health and Safety such as diploma or certificate

      • CRSP, CRST, NCSO, or other designation or qualified to obtain

      • Experience in developing, managing, and auditing H&S management systems, including ISO 45001, 14001, COR Auditor certified

      • Demonstrated knowledge of Workers Compensation Board and Return to Work programs

      • Demonstrated leadership skills and abilities

      • Strong presentation skills

      • Strong knowledge in federal, provincial/state, or municipal health, safety, and environment legislation

      • Excellent problem-solving abilities

      • Proven interpersonal skills

      • Ability to communicate effectively - both verbally and written

      • Comfortable with regional travel that is required in this role
