Lead tasks and projects to accomplish client goals and objectives.
Work on a diverse team that specializes in identifying and quantifying the effects of environmental pollutants, such as metals, pesticides, and volatile organic compounds, on human health and the environment. For example:
We support the Environmental Protection Agency’s Center for Public Health and Environmental Assessment (CPHEA) in developing risk assessments, such as Integrated Risk Information System (IRIS) assessments.
We also provide fate and transport modeling, exposure modeling, and risk assessment support to EPA’s Office of Air Quality Planning and Standards and Office of Water.
Review scientific and peer-reviewed literature to research a broad variety of scientific topics in environmental risk assessment, synthesize findings, and communicate them through various formats and media (e.g., written reports, online websites, visualizations).
Participate in and support scientific workshop activities including notetaking, developing workshop summary reports, and other event logistics.
Follow and implement standardized QA/QC procedures on documents and reports.
The ability to lead tasks, manage budgets, delegate work, and produce high quality deliverables.
The ability to interact with and present project updates to clients and develop quality professional relationships.
Exceptional research and scientific writing skills, including editing, using reference management software (e.g. EndNote), and proofreading skills.
Strong communication skills, including experience with developing and delivering presentations.
The ability to prioritize, multi-task, and work in groups, individually, and virtually under strict deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Master’s degree in Toxicology, Epidemiology, Public Health, Biochemistry, Biology, Chemistry, Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or related subject OR
Bachelor’s degree in previously listed fields of study and 5+ years of combined academic/professional experience working on USG-funded environmental or human health programming.
To support ICF’s dynamic growth and expanding client base, we are seeking a Environmental Health Scientist work in our Health Science Portfolio. This group of 130+ science professionals provide toxicology, hazard assessment, epidemiology, risk assessment, exposure assessment, environmental modeling, and related support that addresses the full spectrum of potentially hazardous agents, including chemicals and microbes. We specialize in identifying and quantifying the effects of environmental pollutants, such as metals, pesticides, and volatile organic compounds, on human health and the environment.

Pay Range - There are multiple factors that are considered in determining final pay for a position, including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location, education and certifications as well as contract provisions regarding labor categories that are specific to the position. The pay range for this position is:
