      Job Description

      Are you a detail-oriented individual with a passion for environmental monitoring and sampling? We are looking for someone like you to join our dynamic team and make a difference in biopharmaceutical manufacturing cleanrooms and process areas.

      Key Responsibilities:

      • Conduct environmental monitoring in cleanrooms and process areas to ensure the highest standards of biopharmaceutical manufacturing.
      • Sample high-purity water, clean steam, and compressed gas systems to maintain quality and safety.
      • Handle, document, and manage samples meticulously, adhering to procedures and GMP requirements.
      • Maintain inventory of laboratory supplies, media, and reagents to ensure smooth operations.
      • Perform essential lab support functions, including cleaning controlled temperature units, operating the autoclave, and managing inventory.
      • Assist in coordinating equipment maintenance and calibration to keep everything running efficiently.
      • Utilize the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) for tracking samples and test results.
      • Participate in overtime, weekend, and holiday schedules as needed, and be part of the on-call team.
      • Train and support other employees, fostering a collaborative and knowledgeable work environment.

      Qualifications

      Minimum Requirements:

      • Bachelor's Degree in Life Sciences or equivalent relevant experience.
      • Strong understanding of microbes, microorganisms, and contamination methods.
      • Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
      • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with self-motivation, adaptability, and a positive attitude.
      • Capacity to learn new techniques, multitask, keep accurate records, follow instructions, and comply with company policies.
      • Proficiency in computer, scientific, and organizational skills.
      • Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship.

      Preferred Qualifications:

      • Experience in the biopharmaceutical or biotechnology industries.
      • Environmental Monitoring experience.
      • Familiarity with cGMP standards.
      • Experience with LIMS.

      Additional Information:

      This indoor lab-based position involves working in biopharmaceutical manufacturing cleanrooms and lab spaces. You will spend significant time in ISO 8 cleanrooms, adhering to specific restrictions:

      • No cosmetic products or applications (e.g., makeup, false lashes, spray tans) are permitted and must be removed before entry.
      • Nails must be kept short, trimmed, and unadorned (no nail polish, rhinestones, etc.).
      • No jewelry may be worn (exceptions include medical alert-related items and one smooth ring band that can be easily covered by a glove).
      • Hair must be neatly tied back and contained in a hairnet, and all facial hair must be neatly trimmed and secured in a beard cover.
      • Ability to meet physical demands, including lifting objects of 25 lbs or more, walking and standing for extended periods, pushing or pulling carts and equipment, and bending down or reaching for supplies.

      Additional Details:

      The position is full-time, second shift, Wednesday – Saturday, 12:30 pm – 11:00 pm. Candidates must be flexible to adapt to schedule changes requiring shift changes and/or weekend work, and overtime may be required as needed. Candidates living within a commutable distance of Rensselaer, New York, are encouraged to apply.
