What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Manage the operating functions of the Unit within the Underground Storage Tank (UST) Section
- Supervise up to eight staff members, assign work, set priorities, and monitor and evaluate performance
- Develop and provide training for the team
- Attend meetings with other supervisory/managerial staff to discuss and resolve issues
- Champion continuous improvement projects within the Unit
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Bachelor's degree in environmental science, environmental management, or related field
- 3-5 years of environmental experience in a regulatory agency, consulting, or private industry
- 2 years of supervisory experience
- Strong people management skills
- Comprehensive knowledge of UST state/federal rules and statutes
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Knowledge of UST insurance policies and financial responsibility
- Experience in state and federal environmental compliance and enforcement protocols
- Additional certifications in environmental management or related fields
