- May collect samples like emissions from vents or smokestacks.
- May collect and prepare water samples from storm water, processed water, and industrial waste water.
- May determine presence, chemical composition, and general characteristics of land pollutants by collecting and analyzing soil, silt, and mud.
- Help the supervising Specialist maintain records and data to ensure permit compliance.
- Assist in preparing summaries and reports by gathering and testing samples and paperwork associated with sample collection.
- Conducts routine maintenance and operation of waste treatment systems, mechanical equipment and other test instrumentation.
- May operate, maintain, and troubleshoot new or existing pollution control equipment.
- Help maintain equipment inventories and perform inspection of equipment and supplies.
- This position has no direct reports
- Have good communications skills to interact with both internal operations managers and external compliance inspectors and testing companies.
- Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Help to maintain the stability and reputation of the organization by maintaining compliance with legal and waste management requirements.

They have some working knowledge of specific federal, state, and local laws relating to environmental protection and waste management.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor’s degree in environmental science or a science-related field.
• 5 years’ experience in a related field will be considered in leu of a degree.
• HAZWOPER certified or the ability to obtain a HAZWOPER certification.
• In-depth knowledge of regulatory requirements, interpretations, and health and safety programs.
• Aptitude to solve problems quickly with advanced conflict resolution skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
A fast paced multi-tasking customer service oriented environment requiring a high degree of efficient and effective performance. Adaptability regarding schedule and task changes is necessary to accommodate changing priorities.
Pay Range:
Pay Range: $30/hr.
The Yulista pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary.
