      The following position is to join our RTX Corporate, Enterprise Services, Research Center or BBN team:

      Description

      RTX is seeking an experienced full-time remote Environmental Scientist / Environmental Engineer to join our Corporate EHS Remediation Team and manage multiple projects within our portfolio of sites. The ideal candidate will have strong technical, organizational, and communication skills; and be capable of working both individually, and in a team environment. The position will be responsible for providing all aspects of project management involving complex contaminant investigations, feasibility studies, risk assessments, and remedial design and operation. Additional responsibilities will include representing the Company’s interest for Superfund sites; briefing senior management; and working with outside stakeholders such as federal, state and local regulators, property owners, neighbors, and public-interest groups.

      Major responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

      • Managing complex soil, groundwater, and sediment projects involving investigations, feasibility studies, risk assessments, and remedial design/operation

      • Selecting, managing, and overseeing environmental consultants

      • Effectively controlling environmental risks, liabilities, and costs, while appropriately protecting human health and the environment

      • Estimating, managing, and tracking environmental remediation costs

      • Communicating with internal and external stakeholders on environmental matters

      • Evaluating environmental data and developing strategies to reduce risk

      • Supporting environmental counsel during mergers and acquisitions, real estate transactions, and litigation

      Required Education/Skills

      • Bachelor’s degree in Geology, Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, or related fields

      • Minimum 8-years of experience in the field

      • Minimum 3 years of demonstrated experience being the principal decision-maker as project manager

      • Strong knowledge of related federal/state regulations

      • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract

      Desired Skills/Education/Experience

      • Strong communication skills with the ability to relay complex information to internal and external stakeholders

      • Ability to work with minimal supervision, and to collaborate in a team environment

      • Must be self-directed and able to manage multiple projects

      • Willingness for some travel

      • Advanced degree in applicable discipline

      • An ability to manage project tasks, and to think strategically how to reduce risks and controlling costs over the life of a project

      • Proven track record in successfully representing parties during agency negotiations

      The salary range for this role is 96,000 USD - 200,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.

      This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
