- Conduct aquatic surveys in-water with wetsuit, water safety gear, etc.
- Prepare documents and natural resource reports
- Conduct/assist in wetland and stream delineations, protected species surveys and habitat assessment, and other natural resource inventories
- Interact with clients and regulatory agencies
- Collaborate with other environmental professionals
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science or equivalent·
- Team-oriented
- Adept at juggling multiple tasks
- Excellent at written and verbal communication
- Motivated to find creative solutions to environmental problems
- Excited to work outdoors in all seasons including in-water
- Experience with GIS (ArcPRO)
- 0 to 5 years relevant experience
- Master’s Degree in Environmental Science or equivalent
- Candidates with internship and/or other directly related work experience highly preferred
- Experience in North Carolina
- Experience with aquatic surveys
- Plant identification, wetland delineation training, NCWAM and NCSAM, ecological monitoring, construction monitoring, CADD, and GIS experience is a plus.

RK&K is seeking an Environmental Scientist I to join our Natural Resources Team in Raleigh. As an RK&K environmental scientist you will be actively involved in a diversity of protected species surveys (including mussels, fish, and plants), habitat assessments, wetland/stream assessment projects, water quality permitting, and other natural resource projects.
