Job Description

- Performs all basic cleaning necessary to keep assigned areas in accordance with the Joint Commission on Accreditation Standards. Duties can include: sweeping, mopping, stripping, scrubbing, refinishing, vacuuming, and spot cleaning floors. Clean and polish surfaces. Clean vertical and horizontal surfaces. Collects and transports medical waste or clean/dirty linen. Cleans windows, changes window treatments and cubicle curtains, washes walls.
- Must maintain all environmental services equipment, which includes floor scrubbers and vacuum cleaners.
- Cleans and disinfects patient rooms during hospital stay and after patient discharge.
- Assists in the control of pests, such as rodents and insects by reporting to the maintenance department.
- Restock all sanitation products in assigned areas.
- Moves furniture or heavy objects to provide pathway for cleaning purposes.
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred. No experience required, able to read written instructions and comprehend verbal instructions given in English.
