- Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, using appropriate designated engagement techniques.
- Performs all types of floor care and maintenance throughout the facility, include hard surfaces and carpeting.
- Adheresto all organizationalsafety, risk management and infection control standards while promoting a culture ofsafety.
- Cleans and performs routine maintenance on floor equipment; requesting assistance from plant operations and maintenance as
needed. - Maintains accurate floor care logs and checklists.
- Able to mix chemicals according to instructions.
- Understanding of what pads, brushes, and screensto use for each flooring job.
- Operates all equipment with care and according to facility and manufacturerssafety standards and procedures.
- Maintains key log for equipmentsign-in/out.
- Use communication devices properly.
- Participatesin departmental performance improvementinitiatives, including but notlimited to initiativesto improve HCAHPS scores
as it relates to hospital cleanliness & “always quiet.” - Performs project work and specialty tasks according to facility needs; can include taskssuch as conference room set up/dismantle
according to function sheets and schedules, and cleaning of stairwells and elevators. - Removes waste and transport to appropriate disposal area while identifying proper waste stream (i.e., regulated medical,
recycle, solid, and hazardous). - Follow all infection prevention practices including proper cleaning process, hand hygiene, standard & isolation precautions where
and if required and proper use of personal Protective Equipment (PPE). - Recognizes and adheres to patient privacy requirements (HIPAA)
- Operates UV disinfection machine as needed or according to policy.
- Completes other assigned task by EVS Leadership.
- Maintains reasonably regular, punctual attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies, the ADA, FMLA, and other federal,
state, and local standards. - Maintains compliance with all Orlando Health policies and procedures.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Certified Health Care Environmental Services Technician (CHEST), preferred.
- Certified Surgical Cleaning Technician (CSCT), preferred.
- DOT Certificate, mandatory
- Completed a Comprehensive Floor Care Program
- 4 or more-year Environmental Services Experience
- Previous floor/carpet care maintenance experience required.
- 4 or more years’ experience in Floor care work.

Position Summary
The Environmental Technician V is responsible for executing the daily duties required to establish and maintain a safe, clean, healing environment. Responsible for ensuring daily room cleaning and timely room turnaround times related to patient throughout within the basic principles of environmental hygiene and infection prevention. The Environmental Services Technician, in accordance with organizational standards of quality, is an essential contributor to cleaning, disinfection, infection prevention, and customer experience.
