Job Description

- Perform hands on field work associated with environmental site assessment and monitoring.
- Adhere to strict standard operating procedures for collection of groundwater, soil, sediment, surface water, and soil gas samples.
- Operate and maintain environmental field instruments including water level meters, turbidity meters, and multiparameter water quality meters.
- Record field data and perform basic calculations based on observed parameters.
- Perform assigned office duties field equipment maintenance, equipment restocking, instrument repair and service requests, field data entry, presentation of data, and other technical support tasks.
- Install and maintain remediation systems.
- Coordinate and communicate with client representatives, subcontractors, homeowners, and WSP employees.
- High school diploma.
- 3+ years of relevant experience.
- Aptitude for diagnosis and repair of mechanical field equipment.
- Ability to independently complete field assignments and summarize data.
- Proficient Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Ability to safely lift 40 pounds.
- Strong commitment to safety, including following established Health and Safety protocols.
- Strong initiative, problem-solving and communication skills, and attention to detail.
- Good verbal and written communication skills and a professional attitude.
- Willingness to travel for field assignments as dictated by project demands (including to remote locations and outside work in various climates up to 50% of time).
- Must successfully complete and pass WSP’s Motor Vehicle screening.
- Two-year technical degree in the field of engineering, environmental sciences, or related discipline.
- 40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER.
- Familiarity with groundwater and soil sampling techniques and field procedures.
- Experience diagnosing and maintaining environmental field instruments.
