      Job Description

      Conducts and supports epidemiological research in the Department of Occupational Medicine, Epidemiology and Prevention (OMEP). Uses epidemiologic methods to independently perform investigative research in the areas of public health, mental health, and/or occupational/environmental medicine with a particular focus on occupational stress.

      Job Responsibility

      • Develops research programs for epidemiology studies throughout the System in conjunction with the Feinstein Institute, Hofstra Medical School and Site researchers.
      • Collaborates with colleagues both within and outside of Northwell on study design, data cleaning and management, and approaches to statistical analysis.
      • Obtains grant and other funding to support independent epidemiologic research.
      • Evaluates impacts of occupational and environmental stressors on physical and mental health to support public health policy and practices for disease control and prevention.
      • Writes abstracts, manuscripts, grant applications, and reports for projects.
      • Provides epidemiological expertise in curriculum development for the department and participates in developing and teaching courses relate to epidemiology.

      Job Qualification

      • PhD degree preferred, or equivalent combination of education and related experience.
      • 5+ years of relevant experience • Bachelor's Degree Required
