      About The Position


      The Equitable Learning Services Administration Officer provides essential frontline administrative and coordination support to the Equitable Learning Services team, which promotes equal opportunities for students with disabilities, long-term illnesses, and/or mental health conditions. As the first point of contact for students and staff, the officer manages enquiries, coordinates appointments, processes documentation, enters data, and supports events and core team functions.

      The role also ensures effective triaging and communication across platforms such as CRMs, the Microsoft Office suite, and other communication platforms and systems. Occasionally, the officer may also support the delivery of other wellbeing services at RMIT. With a proactive, agile mindset, the officer will contribute to continuous improvement, embracing new and contemporary ways of working to enhance service delivery in line with RMIT’s inclusive, student-centred values.

      To be successful in this position, you’ll have:

      1. Administrative and Coordination Experience

      Demonstrated experience in providing high-level administrative support within a student-facing or service delivery environment.

      2. Communication and Interpersonal Skills

      Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage respectfully and empathetically with diverse student populations and internal stakeholders.

      3. Organisational and Time Management Skills

      Proven ability to manage competing priorities, coordinate multiple workflows, and maintain accurate records within a fast-paced environment.

      4. Technical Proficiency

      Familiarity with using Microsoft Office suite, Excel, and student record systems; ability to learn new systems quickly.

      5. Student-Centred Approach

      Commitment to inclusive and accessible education with a sensitivity to the needs of students with disabilities, mental health conditions, and carers.

      6. Team Collaboration

      Capacity to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team, contributing to a positive and supportive team culture.

      About the Portfolio

      Education Portfolio

      The Education Portfolio is headed by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor Education and Vice President who leads the planning and implementation of the University’s strategies related to RMIT’s academic programs and the RMIT student experience.

      The Portfolio is responsible for services to support the quality of RMIT programs, including the professional development of academic staff, continuous improvement of the student experience, learning and teaching outcomes and the management of learning and research information sources.
