      Business Banking Operations (BBO) is responsible for the fulfilment, settlement and servicing of Business Lending products Including Merchant Facilities, Bank Guarantees, CommBiz, Audit Certificates for CBA and CommSec Operations. We support our Business Banking colleagues and all other segments to deliver exceptional service to a wide range of customers including small businesses, franchises, large-scale corporate and CommSec customers. We have around 350+ passionate colleagues based across Australia, and we work closely together to ensure the same exceptional and consistent level of service is provided to all of our customers.

      Non-Core Originations is a CommSec Operations team within BBO comprising of around 100 operational professionals.

      The objective of the team is to service the origination needs of CommSec clients, in particular the establishment of International Equities, Exchange Traded Options, and Margin Loan accounts. The team also supports client maintenance activities in actioning additional authority and Power of Attorney requests.

      Non-Core Originations supports a retail client base and works closely with the rest of CommSec Operations to deliver continuous and process improvements, manage risk effectively, and to safeguard our clients from external fraud.

      An Equity Originations Associate maintains and builds productive relationships across:

      Core responsibilities may include some or all of the following:

      • Processing applications within agreed turnaround times and consistent accuracy in a high volume environment
      • Providing superior levels of internal customer service by responding to and managing stakeholder enquiries, complaints and issues
      • Identifying opportunities to improve the processes within your team or work area
      • Undertaking investigations in respect to stakeholder requests and/or as a result of exception based issues
      • Contributing to and/or completing data reconciliations
      • Completing general administrative duties as required
      • Practising prudent risk management by identifying and responding to business risks
      • Undertake any other tasks assigned by your manager that you have the capability to perform safely in line with relevant internal Bank policies and external regulatory requirements.

      Divisional focus areas:

      Associates will perform the aforementioned activities for the role, product, service or process they support as outlined below:

      • Establish and perform customer identification for various CommSec accounts such as Australian Equities, International Equities, Margin Lending Cash, Exchange Traded Options, and Specialised SMSF accounts.
      • Maintain a robust control framework through the monitoring and performance of key controls; escalate issues/exceptions and report status with respect to such controls in accordance with internal & external requirements or obligations.
      • Record rework and work with team members/Management to develop/design/implement process improvements to address root cause of rework issues.
      • Constantly review and update procedures/process maps with aim of simplifying processes, increasing efficiency and minimising risk.
      • Participate in cross-training both within the team as well as across the wider Operations division to up skill individuals, reduce key person/function risk and improve productivity.
      • “Live” the continuous improvement / productivity ethos to deliver tangible results: participate in Unleashing Innovation (Group Operations-specific) as well as wider Group Productivity initiatives.
      • Participate in new Product initiatives driven by CommSec and its partner businesses as required: coordinate efforts with key stakeholders from across the organisation.
      • Provide the requisite assistance to effectively manage the implementation of key initiatives that will impact the areas supported and/or core infrastructure to ensure the integrity of the team’s systems, process & control framework and operating model are not compromised.
      • Participate in regular team huddles, take every opportunity to develop strong professional relationships, escalate & resolve complaints or issues expeditiously in line with requisite standards and solicit constructive feedback from both internal and external sources where possible.

      To be successful in this role you will have

      • Prior experience in similar role in a product or process environment desirable
      • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
      • Demonstrated customer service experience
      • Attention to detail
      • Working in a team environment
      • Computer literacy
      • Potential to work at different operational locations
      • Tertiary qualifications in a related business discipline preferred.
