  Job Summary:

  The Emergency Room Technician (ERT) plays a critical role in the healthcare system by providing immediate support to medical staff in high-pressure situations. This position is essential for ensuring that patients receive timely and effective care during emergencies. The ERT will assist in various medical procedures, monitor patient conditions, and maintain a sterile environment to promote safety and efficiency. By collaborating closely with doctors and nurses, the ERT helps to streamline operations in the emergency room, ultimately improving patient outcomes. This role requires a strong commitment to patient care, quick decision-making skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

  Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends.

  Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in an emergency room or acute care setting.
  • Certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or similar.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and basic pharmacology.

  Organizational Expectations:

  • Assist medical staff with patient assessments and procedures in the emergency room.
  • Monitor and record vital signs, ensuring accurate documentation in patient charts.
  • Prepare and maintain medical equipment and supplies, ensuring readiness for use.
  • Provide basic patient care, including comfort measures and assistance with mobility.
  • Communicate effectively with patients and their families to provide updates and support.
  • Essential Functions/ Assigned Tasks

  The required skills for this position include strong communication abilities, which are essential for interacting with patients and medical staff effectively. Attention to detail is crucial when monitoring vital signs and documenting patient information accurately. The ability to remain calm under pressure is vital, as emergency situations can be unpredictable and require quick thinking. Preferred skills, such as knowledge of medical terminology, enhance the ERT's ability to understand and assist in medical procedures. Overall, a combination of technical skills and interpersonal abilities will enable the ERT to provide high-quality care and support in the emergency room.

  Physical Requirements:

  Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, and perform overhead lifting as needed. Ability to l ift and carry items weighing more than 50 pounds.
