Job Description

- Graduate or currently enrolled student in an Data Analytics, Data Science, Actuarial Science, Statistics, Mathematics or similar program
- 30 or more credit hours complete with an expected graduation date no later than May of 2026
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills including writing moderately complex formulas, vlookups, Pivot Tables, and macros
- Exposure to one or more programming languages, such as VBA, Python, SAS or R
- Coursework in advanced math including, calculus, discrete distributions or similar
- Fundamental knowledge of insurance industry and risk concepts
- Capable of clearly articulating complex topics to a wide variety of audiences
- Ability to work on-site at 1832 Schuetz Rd. Saint Louis, MO 63146
- Must be presently authorized to work in the U.S. without a requirement for work authorization sponsorship by our company for this position now or in the future
- Understanding or interest in actuarial methods and models
- Prior work or internship experience
- Exposure to SQL programming including modifying scripts and writing new queries
- Passed or scheduled actuarial exams such as, Exam P – Probability or Exam FM – Financial Mathematics

This opportunity is in the Actuarial Services Department:
As an Enterprise Risk Management Intern, you will research, analyze, build, and share data models to help Safety National understand the impacts of regional and global events and how various scenarios could impact Safety National. You will be assigned a mentor and manager to help support your development, but will ultimately be responsible for your own development and achievements.
Your coursework in Data Analytics, Data Science, Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Finance, Business and Risk Management will be put to good use as you learn to apply them to real world business questions and problems. Here you will learn to work effectively with others, use your resources and work across an entire enterprise. You may be assigned models for review, care, and maintenance or given opportunities to partner on development of new models.
