      Job Purpose

      The Product Owner of ESG Technology Enablement will lead the strategic direction and development of Nedbank's technology solutions, centred on sustainability and ESG. This role will be pivotal in transforming the way businesses address and report on sustainability and ESG issues through innovative technological solutions.

      Key Responsibilities

      • Product Vision & Strategy: Define and articulate a clear product vision that merges sustainability, platform technology, and ESG imperatives.
      • Roadmap Planning: Develop, prioritise, and maintain a dynamic product roadmap that reflects industry needs, stakeholder interests, and technological trends.
      • Stakeholder Collaboration: Forge strong relationships with internal teams, including data scientists, engineers, and UX/UI designers, to deliver cutting-edge solutions.
      • Customer Insights: Engage with businesses, NGOs, and regulatory bodies to understand the evolving landscape of sustainability and ESG reporting and compliance.
      • Market Analysis: Continuously assess market shifts, regulatory changes, and competitor products in the sustainability and ESG tech domain.
      • Product Development: Oversee the entire product development lifecycle, ensuring solutions are scalable, robust, and user-friendly.
      • Performance Metrics: Define and monitor key performance indicators that gauge the success and impact of sustainability platforms.
      • Team Leadership: Foster a culture of innovation, integrity, and collaboration within the product team, guiding their professional growth.

      Essential Qualifications - NQF Level

      • Advanced Diplomas/National 1st Degrees

      Preferred Qualification

      • Bachelor's degree in Business, Technology, Environmental Science, or related field; Master's/MBA preferred

      Preferred Skills

      • Deep understanding of global sustainability and ESG trends, challenges, and opportunities.
      • Experience with cloud platforms, data analytics tools, and reporting software.
      • Prior experience in enterprise software or SaaS products that cater to the sustainability and ESG sector.

      Minimum Experience Level

      • 10+ years of experience in product management, with a track record in sustainability, platform development, or ESG-focused products.
      • Demonstrated ability to envision and deploy technology solutions that address complex societal and environmental challenges.
      • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
      • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
      • Familiarity with agile product development methodologies.
      • Leadership experience, with a focus on mentoring and team development.
