      INVESTIA : Estate administration and transactions / Remote / English and French / Montreal, Quebec or Toronto / Start : As soon as possible

      We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Estate Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have some experience in estate administration and trust settlement. Ability to learn new tasks quickly and work well individually and with the team. Good communication skills with the ability to convey complex information clearly and concisely.

      Duties and Responsibilities :

      • Engage with advisors/clients through various communication methods in a professional and supportive manner.
      • Verification of documents.
      • Identify potential issues or missed items on the documents and help find a solution to process the estate claim as efficiently as possible.
      • Process of high dollar estate files: High dollar Redemptions or transfers of various products held in the account (mutual funds, GICs, segregated funds, exchange traded funds) understand CRA administration guidelines.
      • Process payment of funds if applicable to the beneficiaries/assignees.
      • Provide updates to our clients/advisor about document status via email.
      • Escalate issues on a priority basis to ensure we meet SLAs.
      • Stay updated on changes in our procedures and participate within our daily DMS meetings.
      • Good understanding for Estate guidelines for each provincial legislation.

      Job Requirements :

      • Advanced level of English language skills, both oral and written, as the individual will be required to handle a variety of transactions, estate documentation, legal paperwork and due to frequent interaction with English and French-speaking financial advisors and colleagues by phone and email on a daily basis.
      • Previous experience working for a mutual fund dealership, fund company or branch office is an asset.
      • Must demonstrate the INVESTIA behaviors.
      • Completion of IFIC Operations course (asset).
      • Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy and professionalism.
      • Manage inquires and questions from advisors.
      • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment where multi-tasking, attention to detail, organization and prioritization skills are a definite requirement.

      Education & Qualifications:

      • Post Secondary education OR equivalent e xperience working with a mutual fund dealer.
      • Completion of IFIC Operations is an asset
      • An excellent working knowledge of the mutual fund and or financial service industry is necessary.

      Specific skills & abilities or areas of knowledge:

      • Minimum of 2-3 years experience in estate administration or trust settlement or a related discipline of relevant experience.
      • Previous experience working for a mutual fund dealership, fund company or branch office is an asset.
      • Previous experience handing estates, probate, and tax for death claims.
      • Strong understanding of MFDA Industry standards
      • Strong knowledge of estate principles (specific to each province of Canada)
      • Overtime during peak volumes will be a requirement.

      Compensation:

      The typical hiring range for this position is from $48,000 and $65,000 annually; the base pay offered is based on location and may vary depending on skills, job-related knowledge, experience, and internal equity. All permanent employees of iA are also entitled to benefits and annual bonus*.
