- oILM or equivalent post graduate management / leadership qualification or equivalent significant and demonstrable managerial experience.
- oRecognised CITB or EITB Apprenticeship with City and Guilds Part1, 2 & 3 qualifications, C&G 236 1/2 and 3, C&G 2360 1/2 and 3, C&G 2330 level 2 and 3 or equivalent qualifications achieving electrician grade for the UK only. oPost Apprenticeship qualifications, formal certificated training in relevant areas. IPAF certificates in scaffolding, MEWPS. C&G 2391, C&G 2394 and 2395, C&G 2382 Wiring regulations, C&G 2377 (PAT). National Certificate in Electrical Engineering. oMembership of a professional body oRecognised CITB or EITB or JIB approved Apprenticeship with City and Guilds Part 2/3 qualifications or HNC/HND qualification in Building Services / Facilities Managament. oIOSH / NEBOSH Health and Safety qualification.
- oExperience of procurement requirements oExperience of managing and motivating directly employed staff, commercial consultants and external contractors oSignificant experience in managing and monitoring service contracts oExperience of managing budgets oExperience of formulating and managing planned preventive maintenance programmes and reactive maintenance works oWell developed planning and organisational skills oExperience of managing capital projects

Main duties of the job
Role Purpose:
To support the Senior Facilities Manager in planning, managing and monitoring of a comprehensive Estates Service which effectively supports the delivery of its clinical services.
To manage the Estates maintenance team to provide a statutory compliant, effective and efficient Estates service. Core elements will include Estates Health and Safety, communication at all levels, budgetary control, managing within HR Policies, advising management on statutory compliance, safe and efficient use of resources, first line energy management etc.
Undertake project management of statutory standards/backlog maintenance/minor works schemes undertaken by specialist and external contractors including development of project briefs, procurement, contract and performance management.
To support clinical management in all aspects of operational estate management and represent the Estates function at local clinical operational meetings ie risk management, resident council, site management, health and safety, local service developments etc.
Responsible for the day to day management, monitoring, forecasting and reporting of budgets and expenditure for service contracts.
Management of Estates services and associated resources to ensure delivery of SSL's business and financial objectives.
