Job Description
- Req#: 263109
- Review specifications, identifying systems and system counts as well as any cost and risk factors
- Compile RFIs to clarify requirements where there may be ambiguity, options, or competitive advantage
- Complete take offs, device counts, and compile an estimate based on site requirements, complexity, labour, material and equipment costs needed to meet specifications
- Obtain quotations from vendors and suppliers in support of an estimate
- Complete site visits as required
- Complete accurate estimates using Accubid and Accubid Change Order according to Houle standards
- Presentation of estimate, assumptions, risks and estimating process for multiple reviews
- Submission of budgets and/or legally binding quotations
- 5 or more years of experience estimating security and healthcare projects
- Security (access control, CCTV and intrusion detection) and Healthcare Technology (nurse call, RTLS, systems integrations) industry experience required.
- Security, and/or Engineering trade qualifications, coupled with experience
- Familiarity with Lenel, Genetec, Avigilon, and/or Ascom preferred
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy required.
- Strong understanding of estimating practices and methods.
- Experience crafting RFIs from specification reviews.
- Experience with contracts, contract law and terms and conditions.
- Superior communication, interpersonal and leadership skills
- Effective time management capability
About the position:
Currently, we are seeking an Estimator to join our Interior/ BC North Security and Healthcare Technology team.
Reporting to the Operations Manager, this is a critical role for the team, ensuring every project begins with proper, professional estimation. The Estimator will create accurate and timely estimates for security and healthcare technology projects across BC.
This position is ideally based in Kelowna, Kamloops or Prince George but we may consider other locations or remote options.
